A Delicious Tradition – Honey: Mel De Galicia

_MG_6121

“To produce a single jar of honey, foraging honey bees have to travel the equivalent of three times around the world.” – wikipedia.org

Honey this sweet delicious natural nectar that has long been harvested, enjoyed, and even used as a talisman and symbol of sweetness by many cultures around the world. Known for its wonderful taste it adds a fantastic flavor to many culinary dishes and daily rituals.  The benefits of honey are diverse with its sweetening elements for all types of recipes it also works to heal and strengthen the body.  It has long been recommended to take a spoonful a day of honey produced locally in support of reducing allergic reactions.  Bees the hard working pollinators that they are travel their area collecting and distributing pollen and when making their honey back at their nests this combination of pollens work together to make a natural cure providing an individual a variety from their local area which helps in a persons resistance to allergies.  Have fun trying this and see how it works for you.

Mel De Galicia is known for their long standing historical tradition of making fresh local honey in Galicia. The care and attention that are used in its production allow the honey to preserve all of its genuine properties of the highest quality standards.

Thank you Ester Ordóñez Dios of Mel De Galicia for sharing in some special time in the Bo Camiño TASTE IT! booth during Fórum Gastronómic. Felicidades – Congratulations on your recognition and awards at Fórum Gastronómic!
